I can't go on..it's too sad!

The following true story is From Philip Yancy's book "Reaching for the Invisible God".

My wife leads a weekly "Christian circle" at a nursing home. An Alzheimer's patient named Betsy faithfully attends, led there by a staff worker, and sits through the hour. Betsy is slender, with snow-white hair, blue eyes, and a pleasant smile. Every week Janet introduces herself, and every week Betsy responds as if she's never seen her before. When other people interact in the group or laugh at some little joke, Betsy smiles a distant, disarming smile. Mostly she sits quietly, vacant-eyed, enjoying the change of scenery from her room but comprehending nothing of the discussion going on around her.

After a few weeks, Janet learned that Betsy has retained the ability to read. Often, she carries with her a postcard her daughter sent her several months before, which she pores over as if it came in yesterday's mail. She has no comprehension of what she is reading and will repeat the same line over and over, like a stuck record, until someone prompts her to move on. But on a good day she can read a passage straight through in a clear, strong voice. Janet began calling on her each week to read a hymn.

One Friday the senior citizens, who prefer older hymns they remember from childhood, selected "The Old Rugged Cross" for Betsy to read. "On a hill far away stands an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame," she began, and stopped. She suddenly got agitated. "I can't go on! It's too sad! Too sad!" she said. Some of the seniors gasped. Others stared at her, dumbfounded. In years of living at the home, not once had Betsy shown the ability to put words together meaningfully. Now, obviously, she did understand.Janet calmed her: "That's fine, Betsy. You don't have to keep reading if you don't want to."After a pause, though, she started reading again, and stopped at the same place. A tear made a trail down each check. "I can't go on! It's too sad!" she said, unaware she had said the same thing two minutes ago. She tried again, and again reacted with a sudden shock of recognition, grief, and the exact same words.Since the meeting had drawn to a close, the other seniors moved away, heading for the cafeteria or their rooms. They moved quietly, as if in church, glancing over their shoulders in awe at Betsy workers who had come to rearrange the furniture stopped in their tracks and stared. No one had ever seen Betsy in a state resembling lucidity. Finally, when Betsy seemed tranquil, Janet led her to the elevator to return her to her room. To her amazement Betsy began singing the hymn from memory. The words came in breathy, chopped phrases, and she could barely carry the tune, but anyone could recognize the hymn.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame.

New tears fell, but this time Betsy kept going, still from memory, gaining strength as she sang.

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

Somewhere in that tattered mind, damaged neurons had tapped into a network of old connections to resurrect a pattern of meaning for Betsy In her confusion, two things only stood out: suffering and shame. Those two words summarize the human condition, the condition she lives in every day of her sad life. Who knows more suffering and shame than Betsy? For her, the hymn answered that question: Jesus does. The hymn ends, and the Christian story ends, with the promise that redemption will one day be complete, that God will vindicate himself with a burst of re-creative power, that personal knowledge of God will be as certain as the most intimate relationships we know on earth. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

"The Christian story ends with the promise that Betsy will one day get a new mind…"

at the barber shop...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects:

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

“I don’t believe that God exists.”

“Why do you say that?” asked the customer.

“Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.”

The customer thought for a moment, but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: “You know what? Barbers do not exist.”

“How can you say that?” asked the surprised barber. “I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!”

“No!” the customer exclaimed. “Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.”

“Ah, but barbers DO exist! That’s what happens when people do not come to me.”

“Exactly!” affirmed the customer. “That’s the point! God, too, DOES exist! That’s what happens when people do not go to Him and don’t look to Him for help. That’s! why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.”

kicked for God's sake...

An evangelist said: "A little girl of eight years was sent on an errand by her parents. While on her way, she was attracted by the singing of a gospel meeting in the open air, and drew near. The conductor of the meeting was so struck with the child's earnestness that he spoke to her, and told her about Jesus. She being the child of Roman Catholics, did not know much about Him, but the gentleman told her of His love to her. On returning home her father asked her what had detained her. She told him, and he cruelly beat her, forbidding her to go to any such meeting again. About a fortnight afterwards, she was so taken up with what she had previously heard of Jesus, that she forgot all about her message. She saw the same gentleman, who again told her more about the Savior. On her return home, she again told her father, as before, where she had been, and that she had not brought what she had been sent for, but that she had brought Jesus. Her father was enraged, and kicked the poor little creature until the blood came. She never recovered from this brutal treatment. Just before she breathed her last, she called her mother and said: "Mother, I have been praying to Jesus to save you and father." Then pointing to her little dress, she said: "Mother, cut me a bit out of the blood-stained piece of my dress." The mother, wondering, did so. "Now," said the dying child, "Christ shed His blood for my sake, and l am going to take this to Jesus to show Him that I shed my blood for His sake." Thus she died, holding firmly the piece of her dress, stained with her own blood. The testimony of that dear child was the means of leading both father and mother to Christ.

A child's answered prayer...

Ang cute ng story, at d same tym nkka-bless...hehe...

A little boy about ten years old was standing before a shoe store in Broadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold. A lady riding up the street in a beautiful carriage, drawn by horses finely caparisoned, observed the little fellow in his forlorn condition, and immediately ordered the driver to draw up and stop in front of the store. The lady, richly dressed in silk, alighted from her carriage, went quickly to the boy, and said: " My little fellow, why are you looking so earnestly in that window?"

"I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes," was the reply. The lady took him by the hand and went into the store, and asked the proprietor if he would allow one of his clerks to go and buy half a dozen pair of stockings for the boy. He readily assented. She then asked him if he could give her a basin of water and a towel, and he replied: "Certainly," and quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store, and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed those little-feet and dried them with the towel.

By this time the young man had returned with the stockings. Placing a pair upon his feet, she purchased and gave him a pair of shoes, and tying up the remaining pairs of stockings, gave them to him, and patting him on the head said: "I hope, my little fellow, that you now feel more comfortable."

As she turned to go, the astonished lad caught her hand, and looking up in her face, with tears in his eyes, answered her question with these words: "Are you God's wife? "

truth about DOTA...(credits to zine2hamster)

truth about DOTA (a satanic game)
ANCIENT – question: who is ancient?
– answer: God but satan disguises
himself and
deceives us, saying
that He is the Ancient one.

Why?
who would you think you will defend on
this game? whose defense is this? (with
those
cheats and verbal acknowledgments..
later to be
discussed)

the obvious aims:

-to kill your enemy, to destroy the
tree of
life for sentinel, to destroy the
frozen throne for
scourge, and TO BE BEYOND GODLIKE in
this
game.

the real aims:

- worshiping satan through consciously
enjoying the game.
Why?
- because this game is extremely a
deception from satan and you are
actually enjoying
it.

THE GAME

There are two bases or teams:

Sentinel vs.scourge
Good ones
monsters
Human
dark evil
Weak
strong

CHEATS:

WHO’S YOUR DADDY
- This is used to become stronger
- But actually this cheat pertains to
admittance
that your father indeed is satan.

GREED IS GOOD
- To have more money
- In Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 “Those who
love
money will never have enough,, the more
you have.. the more people come to help
you
spend it.”
- It feeds your mind that it’s fine to
love money
because you need it.

I SEE DEAD PEOPLE
- This allows you to see the map
- The truth behind is that, spiritually
the players
and those who are involved are dead;
they don’t
have real life for they are being used
be
satan to praise him through this game.
Dead
people!

Verbal acknowledgments:

- OMG (Oh my God) The Bible states, “do
not use the name of the Lord in vain!”
- BULLs**t and HOLYs**t need not to
explain
- Good job / Good work when you killed
somebody
you are being congratulated with a good
job or good work.

TESTIMONY:

At the dawn of February 26, 2007, my
brother dreamt of 2 dreams.
First, he dreamt that Jesus is showing
how evil
dota is, then he woke up and blurted
out: “ayoko na
magdota!” he fell asleep again and had
his second
dream, he was talking with a friend who
in real life
doesn’t want to play dota anymore, when
my
brother blurted out once again, “ayoko
na
magdota!”, a man came near to him and
laid hands
cursing my brother. When they rebuked
it in Jesus
name, it disappeared. Then, when he
shouted “hindi na ako magdodota kahit
kailan!”
Crystal Maiden (one of those unpleasing
characters in dota) appeared in my
brother and he
told us that it felt like he couldn’t
breathe, my
brother rebuked it in Jesus’ name and
told to
it, “hindi na ako magpapabitag sa
iyo, I belong to Jesus!” Then he woke
up
and ran downstairs. He told everything
to us and
prayed for him. My father helped him
renounce it
and right after he surrendered he
puked, and we
brought him to hospital. But our family
claimed that
Jesus is
victorious and satan will never win. He
had a
testimony about his dream the Sunday
after he
experienced it, after he witness, those
who
are
involved in dota were prayed for.

Note: Akala ng lahat laro lang dota,
pero
si Satan
hindi nakikipaglaro. He is using dota
to
pollute
the
minds of our youth.

Ephesians 4:27
Don’t give devil a chance! If you
ignore
this, it’s
your own risk.
This is the TRUTH. Do not be blind and
do not
harden your heart.
